Farabundo Martí National Liberation Front
The Farabundo Martí National Liberation Front (FMLN) is a political party in El Salvador that originated as a guerrilla group during the Salvadoran Civil War (1980-1992). Named after the revolutionary leader Farabundo Martí, the FMLN fought against the military government and its human rights abuses, advocating for social justice and equality.
After the civil war ended, the FMLN transitioned into a political party and participated in democratic elections. It has since aimed to address issues such as poverty, inequality, and violence in El Salvador, becoming a significant force in the country's political landscape.
