Farabundo Martí
Farabundo Martí was a Salvadoran revolutionary leader and a key figure in the early 20th-century struggle for social justice in El Salvador. Born on May 5, 1893, he became involved in labor movements and advocated for the rights of the poor and marginalized. His activism was driven by the desire to improve living conditions and reduce inequality in the country.
Martí is best known for leading the 1932 Salvadoran Peasant Massacre, where thousands of indigenous people and peasants were killed by the government. After his execution, he became a symbol of resistance and is celebrated as a national hero by many in El Salvador today.
