European Mole
The European Mole (Talpa europaea) is a small, burrowing mammal found across much of Europe. It has a cylindrical body, velvety fur, and powerful front limbs adapted for digging. Typically, it measures about 10 to 15 centimeters in length and has a distinctive pointed snout.
European moles primarily feed on earthworms and other soil invertebrates. They create extensive tunnel systems underground, which help aerate the soil and control pest populations. Their presence is often indicated by the mounds of soil they push to the surface while digging.
