Eupator of Pontus
Eupator of Pontus was a king of the ancient kingdom of Pontus, located in what is now northern Turkey. He ruled during the 2nd century BCE and was known for his efforts to expand his territory and influence. His reign is often associated with the rise of the Pontic Kingdom, which became a significant power in the region.
Eupator was the son of Mithridates I and continued his father's legacy by engaging in military campaigns against neighboring states. His rule laid the groundwork for the later achievements of his more famous descendant, Mithridates VI, who would further elevate the kingdom's status in the ancient world.
