Ermengarde of Navarre
Ermengarde of Navarre was a notable historical figure born around 1180. She was the daughter of Sancho VI of Navarre and Sancha of Castile. Ermengarde became the queen consort of Richard I of England through her marriage in 1191, although their union was short-lived due to Richard's death in 1199.
After Richard's passing, Ermengarde returned to Navarre, where she played a significant role in the politics of the region. She was known for her strong character and influence, contributing to the stability of the Kingdom of Navarre during her lifetime.
