Sancha of Castile was a Spanish princess born in 1154, the daughter of King Alfonso VII of León and Castile and Berenguela of Barcelona. She played a significant role in the political landscape of medieval Spain, particularly through her marriage to Count Ramón Berenguer IV of Barcelona, which strengthened ties between the kingdoms of Castile and Aragon.
Sancha was also known for her piety and support of the church. She became a nun later in life and was associated with the Monastery of Santa María la Real de Las Huelgas in Burgos. Her legacy includes contributions to the cultural and religious life of her time.
