Eric XIV
Eric XIV was a king of Sweden who reigned from 1560 to 1568. He was the son of Gustav I of Sweden and Cecilia of Sweden. Eric is known for his attempts to strengthen the monarchy and expand Sweden's territories, particularly through military campaigns against Denmark and Russia.
His reign was marked by political instability and conflicts with the nobility. Eric XIV's mental health deteriorated over time, leading to erratic behavior. In 1568, he was deposed by his half-brother, John III, and spent the rest of his life imprisoned until his death in 1577.
