Epispadias
Epispadias is a rare congenital condition where the urethra, the tube that carries urine from the bladder, does not develop properly. In males, the urethra opens on the top side of the penis instead of at the tip, while in females, it may open in the clitoral area. This condition can lead to difficulties with urination and may require surgical intervention.
The exact cause of epispadias is not well understood, but it is believed to occur during fetal development. It is often associated with other conditions, such as bladder exstrophy, where the bladder is exposed outside the body. Early diagnosis and treatment can help manage symptoms and improve quality of life.
