Empress Zoe
Empress Zoe was a Byzantine empress who ruled from 1028 to 1050. She was born in 978 and was the daughter of Emperor Constantine VIII. Zoe became empress after marrying her first husband, Romanos III, and later her second husband, Michael IV. Her reign was marked by political intrigue and power struggles within the imperial court.
Zoe was known for her strong personality and ambition. After the death of her second husband, she ruled alongside her sister, Theodora, until her own death in 1050. Zoe's legacy includes her influence on the Byzantine Empire and her role in the complex history of female rulers during this period.
