Michael IV
Michael IV was a Byzantine Emperor who ruled from 1034 to 1041. He was born in 1010 and came from a humble background, initially working as a servant in the imperial palace. Michael IV rose to power after marrying Empress Zoe, the widow of his predecessor, Michael III. His reign was marked by political intrigue and military challenges.
During his rule, Michael IV faced conflicts with the Seljuk Turks and internal strife within the empire. He was known for his efforts to strengthen the Byzantine military and improve the administration. However, his health deteriorated, and he died in 1041, leaving a complex legacy behind.
