Empress Dowager Maria Feodorovna
Empress Dowager Maria Feodorovna was born on July 26, 1847, in Denmark as Princess Dagmar. She married the future Emperor Alexander III of Russia in 1866 and became the Empress of Russia. Known for her strong character and dedication to her family, she played a significant role in the Russian court and was involved in various charitable activities.
After her husband's death in 1894, Maria Feodorovna became the Empress Dowager, supporting her son, Nicholas II, during his reign. She was a prominent figure in Russian society until the fall of the monarchy in 1917, after which she fled to Denmark, where she lived until her death in 1928.
