Emperors of Russia
The Emperors of Russia, also known as the Tsars, ruled from the 16th century until the early 20th century. The first official Tsar was Ivan IV, also known as Ivan the Terrible, who was crowned in 1547. The Romanov dynasty, which began in 1613, included notable rulers like Peter the Great and Catherine the Great, who expanded the empire and modernized the country.
The reign of the last Tsar, Nicholas II, ended in 1917 during the Russian Revolution. This marked the fall of the monarchy and the rise of the Soviet Union. The legacy of the Emperors continues to influence Russian culture and history today.
