Emperor Go-Komatsu
Emperor Go-Komatsu was a Japanese emperor who reigned during the late 14th century. Born in 1356, he was the last emperor of the Northern Court, a faction that claimed legitimacy during the Nanboku-chō period, a time of civil strife in Japan. His reign lasted from 1382 to 1390, and he was known for his efforts to restore imperial authority.
In 1390, Emperor Go-Komatsu abdicated in favor of Emperor Go-En'yū, marking the end of the Northern Court's rule. After his abdication, he continued to play a role in politics and was later recognized as a legitimate emperor by the Southern Court. He passed away in 1433.
