Emmanuel-Philibert, Prince of Venice
Emmanuel-Philibert, Prince of Venice, is a historical figure known for his role in the governance of the Duchy of Savoy during the late 16th century. Born in 1528, he was the son of Charles III, Duke of Savoy and Beatrice of Portugal. His reign was marked by efforts to strengthen the duchy and improve its economy.
In 1559, Emmanuel-Philibert became the Duke of Savoy after a period of exile. He is often credited with revitalizing the region and promoting trade. His marriage to Margaret of France further solidified political alliances, enhancing the influence of the Savoy dynasty in European affairs.
