Beatrice of Portugal
Beatrice of Portugal was a Portuguese princess born in 1430, the daughter of King Edward of Portugal and Leonor of Aragon. She became the Queen of Castile through her marriage to King John II of Castile in 1447. This union was significant as it aimed to strengthen ties between Portugal and Castile during a time of political instability.
Beatrice's life was marked by her role in the dynastic struggles of the Iberian Peninsula. After her husband's death in 1454, she faced challenges in maintaining her influence. She eventually returned to Portugal, where she lived until her death in 1506, leaving a legacy intertwined with the history of both kingdoms.
