Emir of Kuwait
The Emir of Kuwait is the head of state and the highest authority in the country of Kuwait. The Emir holds significant power, including appointing the Prime Minister and other key officials, and plays a crucial role in shaping national policies. The position is hereditary, typically passed down within the Al Sabah family.
The Emir also represents Kuwait in international affairs and is responsible for maintaining the country's stability and security. The current Emir, as of October 2023, is Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, who ascended to the throne in September 2020 following the death of his half-brother, Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.
