Emei monkey
The Emei monkey, also known as the Emei Shan macaque, is a species of monkey native to the mountainous regions of China, particularly around Mount Emei. These monkeys are characterized by their long tails, brownish fur, and expressive faces. They are social animals, often seen in groups, and are known for their intelligence and adaptability to various environments.
Emei monkeys primarily feed on fruits, leaves, and insects, and they play a crucial role in their ecosystem by helping to disperse seeds. They are often found in close proximity to tourists, especially in areas where they are accustomed to human interaction. Conservation efforts are in place to protect their habitat and ensure their survival.
