Emei Shan macaque
The Emei Shan macaque is a species of monkey found primarily in the Emei Mountain region of China. Known scientifically as *Macaca thibetana*, these macaques are characterized by their long limbs, thick fur, and expressive faces. They typically inhabit temperate forests and are well-adapted to the mountainous terrain.
Emei Shan macaques are social animals, often seen in groups that can range from a few individuals to over a hundred. Their diet mainly consists of fruits, leaves, and seeds, but they are also known to scavenge for food near human settlements, which can lead to conflicts with people visiting the area.
