Los Reyes Magos
"Los Reyes Magos," or the Three Wise Men, are figures in Christian tradition who visited the newborn Jesus in Bethlehem. They are often identified as Melchior, Gaspar, and Balthazar, and are said to have brought gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh. Their visit is celebrated on January 6th, known as Epiphany, marking the end of the Christmas season.
In many Spanish-speaking countries, "Los Reyes Magos" is a significant holiday. Families often celebrate with parades, special meals, and the traditional "Rosca de Reyes," a sweet bread shaped like a crown. Children eagerly await gifts, believing they are delivered by the Wise Men, similar to the Christmas tradition of Santa Claus.
