Elastic Cartilage
Elastic cartilage is a flexible type of connective tissue found in various parts of the body. It contains a dense network of elastic fibers, which allows it to maintain shape while providing support. This type of cartilage is primarily located in structures such as the ear, the epiglottis, and parts of the larynx.
Unlike other types of cartilage, such as hyaline cartilage or fibrocartilage, elastic cartilage is more resilient and can withstand repeated bending. Its unique composition makes it essential for maintaining the shape and function of certain organs while allowing for flexibility and movement.
