Elagabal
Elagabal, also known as Heliogabalus, was a Roman Emperor who reigned from 218 to 222 AD. He was born in Syria and became emperor at a young age, known for his eccentric behavior and controversial religious practices. Elagabal was a priest of the sun god Elagabal and attempted to elevate this deity above traditional Roman gods, which led to significant tension within the empire.
His reign was marked by lavish spending and a disregard for Roman customs, which alienated many senators and citizens. Elagabal's rule ended when he was assassinated at the age of 18, and he was succeeded by Severus Alexander.
