Severan Dynasty
The Severan Dynasty was a Roman imperial family that ruled from 193 to 235 AD. It began with Septimius Severus, who seized power after a civil war. The dynasty is known for its military expansion and significant architectural projects, including the construction of the Severan Forum in Rome.
The Severan rulers included Caracalla, famous for granting Roman citizenship to all free men in the empire, and Geta, his brother. The dynasty ended with the assassination of Alexander Severus, leading to a period of instability known as the Crisis of the Third Century.
