Edward Montagu
Edward Montagu was an English naval officer and politician during the 17th century. He played a significant role in the English Civil War, supporting the Parliament against the Royalists. Montagu was known for his leadership in the navy and was instrumental in the establishment of the Commonwealth of England after the execution of King Charles I.
Later, Montagu was appointed as the first Lord of the Admiralty and was involved in the restoration of the monarchy in 1660. He was a key figure in the Second Anglo-Dutch War, contributing to England's naval power and influence during this period.
