Dusan the Mighty
Dusan the Mighty, also known as Stefan Dušan, was a significant medieval ruler of the Serbian Empire during the 14th century. He reigned from 1331 to 1355 and is known for expanding the empire's territory, making it one of the most powerful states in the Balkans. His reign marked a period of cultural and economic growth, as well as the establishment of the Serbian Orthodox Church as an independent institution.
Dusan implemented a series of legal reforms, culminating in the Dušan's Code, which aimed to strengthen the central authority and improve governance. He was also known for his military campaigns against the Byzantine Empire and other neighboring states, which further solidified his legacy as a formidable leader in the region.
