Duncan I of Scotland
Duncan I of Scotland was a king who reigned from 1034 to 1040. He was the grandson of Malcolm II and belonged to the House of Dunkeld. His rule is often noted for its attempts to consolidate power and maintain peace among the clans in Scotland.
Duncan's reign ended when he was defeated and killed by Macbeth, a nobleman who sought the throne for himself. This event is famously dramatized in William Shakespeare's play "Macbeth." Duncan's legacy is often overshadowed by the events surrounding his death and the subsequent rise of Macbeth.
