Dumouriez
Charles-François Dumouriez was a French general during the late 18th century, known for his role in the early stages of the French Revolution. Born in 1739, he initially supported the revolutionary cause and achieved notable victories against the Austrian Empire.
However, Dumouriez's relationship with the revolutionary government soured, leading to his defection in 1793. He sought to establish a more moderate regime and ultimately fled to Austria, where he lived in exile until his death in 1823. His military strategies and political maneuvers remain a subject of historical interest.
