Duke George of Saxony
Duke George of Saxony (1471-1539) was a prominent German nobleman and a member of the House of Wettin. He ruled the Duchy of Saxony from 1500 until his death. Known for his strong support of the Catholic Church, he opposed the Reformation and the ideas of Martin Luther, which significantly influenced the religious landscape of Germany during his time.
