Duke Friedrich Wilhelm of Schleswig-Holstein was a German nobleman born on October 14, 1829. He belonged to the House of Schleswig-Holstein and was the son of Duke Friedrich Karl. Friedrich Wilhelm played a significant role in the political landscape of the German states during the 19th century, particularly in the context of the Danish War and the Austro-Prussian War. He became the Duke of Schleswig-Holstein after the death of his father in 1863.
