Danish War
The Danish War, also known as the Second Schleswig War, took place from 1864 to 1865. It was fought between the Kingdom of Denmark and the combined forces of Prussia and Austria. The conflict arose over the territories of Schleswig and Holstein, which were claimed by both Denmark and the German Confederation. The war ended with a decisive defeat for Denmark, leading to significant territorial losses.
Following the war, the Treaty of Vienna was signed in 1864, resulting in the annexation of Schleswig and Holstein by Prussia and Austria. This conflict set the stage for future tensions in Europe, contributing to the rise of Prussian power and the eventual unification of Germany.
