Duchy of Saxe-Zeitz
The Duchy of Saxe-Zeitz was a historical territory in Germany, established in the early 17th century. It was part of the larger Saxon region and was created in 1657 when John George I of Saxony divided his lands among his sons. The duchy was known for its rich cultural heritage and significant contributions to the arts and architecture.
The duchy existed until 1815, when it was dissolved during the reorganization of German territories at the Congress of Vienna. Its capital was the town of Zeitz, which played a central role in the duchy's administration and development. Today, the area is part of the modern state of Saxony-Anhalt.
