Duchy of Piacenza
The Duchy of Piacenza was a historical state in northern Italy, established in the 14th century. It was part of the larger region of Emilia-Romagna and was known for its strategic location along trade routes. The duchy was ruled by various noble families, including the House of Visconti and later the House of Farnese.
In 1748, the duchy was incorporated into the Duchy of Parma and Piacenza following the Treaty of Aix-la-Chapelle. The region is characterized by its rich agricultural land and historical architecture, reflecting its importance in Italian history and culture.
