Duchess Sophie of Bavaria was born on July 27, 1805, in Munich, Germany. She was a member of the royal family of Bavaria and the daughter of King Maximilian I Joseph of Bavaria and Princess Caroline of Baden. Sophie became known for her intelligence and strong character. In 1824, she married King Otto of Greece, becoming the Queen of Greece. Her reign was marked by political challenges and personal struggles, as Otto faced opposition to his rule. Sophie played a significant role in supporting her husband and was involved in various charitable activities throughout her life. She passed away on May 28, 1872.
