Dorothea of Saxe-Lauenburg
Dorothea of Saxe-Lauenburg (1430–1495) was a German noblewoman known for her marriage to Christian I of Denmark. She was the daughter of Eric IV of Saxe-Lauenburg and Catherine of Brunswick-Lüneburg. Her marriage helped strengthen the ties between the Danish and German nobility during the late Middle Ages.
As a queen consort, Dorothea played a significant role in the political landscape of Scandinavia. She was the mother of several children, including John I of Denmark, who later became king. Dorothea's lineage and connections contributed to the dynastic stability of the region during her lifetime.
