Catherine of Brunswick-Lüneburg
Catherine of Brunswick-Lüneburg (1468–1526) was a German noblewoman and the daughter of Ernest I, Duke of Brunswick-Lüneburg. She became the Duchess of Saxony through her marriage to George, Duke of Saxony in 1484. Catherine played a significant role in the political landscape of her time, supporting her husband's rule and managing their estates.
As a member of the House of Welf, Catherine was part of a prominent noble family in Germany. Her marriage strengthened alliances between the Brunswick-Lüneburg and Saxon territories, contributing to the stability of the region during the late 15th and early 16th centuries.
