Dja River Basin
The Dja River Basin is located in southeastern Cameroon and is part of the larger Congo River Basin. It covers an area of approximately 1,200 square kilometers and is characterized by dense tropical rainforests, diverse wildlife, and rich biodiversity. The basin is home to several endangered species, including the Western Lowland Gorilla and the African Forest Elephant.
The Dja River itself flows through the basin, providing essential water resources for local communities and ecosystems. The region is also recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site due to its ecological significance and the presence of the Dja Faunal Reserve, which aims to protect its unique flora and fauna.
