Dja Faunal Reserve
The Dja Faunal Reserve is a protected area located in southeastern Cameroon. Established in 1950, it covers approximately 5,260 square kilometers and is recognized for its rich biodiversity. The reserve is home to various species, including elephants, gorillas, and numerous birds, making it an important site for conservation efforts.
Designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1987, the Dja Faunal Reserve plays a crucial role in preserving the unique ecosystems of the Congo Basin. Its dense rainforests and diverse habitats support both flora and fauna, contributing to global biodiversity and ecological research.
