Deuteranopia
Deuteranopia is a type of color blindness that affects the perception of green light. Individuals with this condition have difficulty distinguishing between green and red hues, as their eyes lack functioning cones that are sensitive to green wavelengths. This can lead to challenges in identifying colors in everyday situations, such as traffic lights and colored objects.
The condition is caused by a genetic mutation and is more common in males than females. It is one of the three main types of color blindness, along with protanopia and tritanopia. While there is no cure, many people with deuteranopia learn to adapt to their color vision differences.
