Desert Rodent
Desert rodents are small mammals adapted to live in arid environments. They have specialized features, such as large ears for dissipating heat and fur that helps them retain moisture. Common species include the kangaroo rat and the pocket mouse, which are known for their ability to survive with little water by extracting moisture from their food.
These rodents are primarily nocturnal, allowing them to avoid the extreme heat of the day. They often create burrows to escape the heat and store food. Their diet mainly consists of seeds, plants, and insects, making them important contributors to the desert ecosystem.
