Kangaroo Rat
The Kangaroo Rat is a small, nocturnal rodent native to the arid regions of North America, particularly in the southwestern United States and northern Mexico. It is known for its long hind legs, which allow it to make impressive leaps, similar to a kangaroo. This adaptation helps it escape predators and navigate its sandy habitat.
Kangaroo rats have large eyes and ears, which enhance their ability to see and hear in low-light conditions. They are well-adapted to their dry environment, obtaining most of their water from the seeds they eat, and they can survive without drinking water for long periods.
