Deep Fibular Nerve
The Deep Fibular Nerve is a branch of the Common Fibular Nerve, which originates from the sciatic nerve. It primarily innervates the muscles in the anterior compartment of the leg, including those responsible for dorsiflexion of the foot. This nerve also provides sensory innervation to the skin between the first and second toes.
In addition to motor functions, the Deep Fibular Nerve plays a role in proprioception, helping the body sense its position in space. Damage to this nerve can lead to conditions such as foot drop, where the individual has difficulty lifting the front part of the foot.
