Decimus Junius Brutus
Decimus Junius Brutus was a Roman politician and general who lived during the late Roman Republic. He is best known for his role in the assassination of Julius Caesar in 44 BCE. A close friend of Caesar, Decimus was persuaded to join the conspiracy against him, believing it would restore the Republic.
After Caesar's death, Decimus faced significant challenges. He was involved in the subsequent power struggles and civil wars, aligning himself with Brutus and Cassius. Ultimately, he was defeated at the Battle of Philippi in 42 BCE, where he was killed by forces loyal to Mark Antony and Octavian.
