DeFeo Family
The DeFeo family was a family living in Amityville, New York, known primarily for the tragic events that occurred in their home in 1974. Ronald DeFeo Jr. murdered six members of his family, including his parents and four siblings, in their house at 112 Ocean Avenue. This shocking crime drew significant media attention and led to a highly publicized trial.
The aftermath of the DeFeo family tragedy became the basis for various books and films, most notably the 1977 horror film, The Amityville Horror. The house itself became infamous, attracting paranormal investigators and curious visitors, further embedding the DeFeo family's story in popular culture.
