The Amityville Horror
"The Amityville Horror" refers to a series of events that took place in a house located at 112 Ocean Avenue in Amityville, New York. In 1974, Ronald DeFeo Jr. murdered six members of his family in the home. The house later became infamous when the Lutz family moved in and reported experiencing paranormal phenomena, including strange noises and unsettling visions.
The Lutz family's experiences were detailed in the 1977 book by Jay Anson, which popularized the story. The tale has since inspired numerous films, documentaries, and discussions about the nature of hauntings and the psychological effects of trauma associated with the tragic events.
