D'Annunzio
Gabriele D'Annunzio was an Italian poet, playwright, and nationalist known for his influential works in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. He was a prominent figure in the Decadent movement and is celebrated for his rich, lyrical style and themes of beauty, love, and heroism. D'Annunzio's literary contributions include notable works like "The Triumph of Death" and "The Flame of Life."
In addition to his literary career, D'Annunzio was also involved in politics and military actions. He led a group of Italian nationalists in the Fiume Crisis of 1919, seizing the city of Fiume (now Rijeka, Croatia) in a bid for Italian expansion. His actions and ideas significantly influenced Italian nationalism and the rise of Fascism in the early 20th century.
