Czechoslovak Chess Federation
The Czechoslovak Chess Federation was established in 1923 to promote and organize chess activities in Czechoslovakia. It played a significant role in the development of chess in the country, supporting tournaments and fostering local talent.
After the peaceful split of Czechoslovakia into the Czech Republic and Slovakia in 1993, the federation was succeeded by two separate organizations: the Czech Chess Federation and the Slovak Chess Federation. Both continue to promote chess at national and international levels, maintaining the legacy of the original federation.
