Cyrus the Younger
Cyrus the Younger was a Persian prince, born around 424 BC, and the son of Darius II. He is best known for his attempt to seize the Persian throne from his brother, Artaxerxes II, in 401 BC. Cyrus gathered a significant army, including Greek mercenaries, and marched into Asia Minor to challenge his brother's rule.
The conflict culminated in the Battle of Cunaxa, where Cyrus was ultimately defeated and killed. Despite his failure, his campaign is notable for the involvement of the Ten Thousand, a group of Greek soldiers who later became famous for their journey home, chronicled by the historian Xenophon.
