Cyprus Wildlife
Cyprus is home to a diverse range of wildlife, including unique species of birds, mammals, and reptiles. The island's varied habitats, such as forests, mountains, and coastal areas, support over 400 species of birds, making it a popular spot for birdwatching. Notable species include the Cyprus warbler and the Bonelli's eagle.
In addition to birds, Cyprus hosts several endemic species, such as the Cyprus mouflon, a wild sheep found in the Troodos Mountains. The island's marine life is also rich, with numerous fish species and the endangered Mediterranean monk seal inhabiting its waters. Conservation efforts are in place to protect these unique ecosystems.
