Croup
Croup is a common respiratory condition in young children, characterized by a distinctive barking cough, hoarseness, and difficulty breathing. It is usually caused by a viral infection, often affecting the larynx and trachea. Symptoms typically worsen at night and may be accompanied by a fever.
Treatment for croup often includes home care, such as using a humidifier and keeping the child calm. In more severe cases, a doctor may prescribe corticosteroids to reduce inflammation. Most children recover fully within a few days, but it's important to monitor for any signs of respiratory distress.
