Crab Pots
Crab pots are specialized traps used to catch crabs in oceans and coastal waters. They are typically made of wire mesh and come in various shapes and sizes, designed to attract crabs while preventing their escape. Fishermen bait the pots with food, such as fish or chicken, and place them on the seafloor.
Once the pots are set, they are left for several hours or days before being retrieved. The design of crab pots allows crabs to enter easily but makes it difficult for them to exit. This method of fishing is popular in many regions, especially where blue crabs and Dungeness crabs are abundant.
