Cova da Iria
Cova da Iria is a significant religious site located in Fátima, Portugal. It is known for being the location where three shepherd children, Lúcia Santos, Francisco Marto, and Jacinta Marto, reported apparitions of the Virgin Mary in 1917. These events led to the establishment of the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Fátima, which attracts millions of pilgrims each year.
The site features the Basilica of Our Lady of the Rosary, which houses the tombs of the three visionaries. Cova da Iria is also home to the Chapel of the Apparitions, where the Virgin Mary is said to have appeared. The area is a center for prayer, reflection, and religious gatherings.
